What to expect
Munich (Pass By)
Your private driver will pick you up directly at your hotel in Munich for a scenic journey to the Bavarian Alps and the Berchtesgaden region. The drive takes approximately 1.5–2 hours and passes through picturesque Alpine valleys, charming villages, and panoramic mountain landscapes.
Traveling privately allows for a relaxed pace with optional photo stops along the way. Enjoy forested slopes, seasonal snow-capped peaks, and sparkling rivers as the road gradually ascends toward Obersalzberg, the starting point for the Eagle’s Nest experience.
Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle’s Nest)
From Obersalzberg, guests continue to the Eagle’s Nest via official mountain buses, climbing a steep and scenic road to the summit in about 20 minutes. Upon arrival, a historic brass elevator transports visitors directly into the building.
Constructed in 1938 as a diplomatic and representative retreat during WWII, the Eagle’s Nest today offers a unique combination of historical context and breathtaking Alpine scenery. Guests can enjoy panoramic views across Germany and Austria, making it one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the region.
The Alps (Pass By)
After the Eagle’s Nest visit, your private driver will meet you at the agreed point to continue toward Hohenwerfen Castle. The approximately 45–50 minute drive follows the scenic Salzach Valley through dramatic mountain landscapes, rivers, and traditional villages.
Private travel ensures flexibility and comfort throughout the journey.
Burg Hohenwerfen
Hohenwerfen Castle rises dramatically above the Salzach Valley, surrounded by Alpine peaks. Built in the 11th century, it served as a strategic defensive fortress and later as a residence for the archbishops of Salzburg.
Visitors can explore historic courtyards, towers, and exhibitions while enjoying sweeping mountain views. The castle is internationally known as a filming location for the classic WWII movie Where Eagles Dare (1968), starring Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood. Several key exterior scenes were filmed here, adding cinematic history to its medieval character and impressive setting.
Munich (Pass By)
After exploring Hohenwerfen Castle, your private driver will begin the return journey to Munich, approximately 1.5–2 hours. The scenic route once again showcases Alpine valleys, forested slopes, and traditional villages.
Relax in comfort as the day concludes with drop-off at your accommodation in Munich, completing a memorable experience filled with history, cinema, and breathtaking mountain scenery.
